How to Use Unmounted Stamps

We discovered the world of unmounted stamps about 3 years ago.  Here at the Outpost, space is pretty tight, and finding storage for the hundreds of stamps we bought BEFORE we started making our own was troublesome.

Unmounted gives us the freedom to fill up that space that would have been crowded with wood mounted stamps with other sundries.  LOTS of other sundries.

Unmounted stamps also provide a lower cost alternative for artists.  The price of unmounted rubber is often times less than HALF what you would pay for something that is mounted.  To keep our costs low for you, Artistic Outpost decided to start out offering unmounted rubber stamps ONLY.  That’s not to say that we won’t change our mind SOME day, but for now, we are only selling JPRR. (Just Plain Red Rubber)

Mounting Your Own:

We do recommend that you mount your stamps to get the best impression possible with our images.  Our preferred method is using the static cling foam backing with acrylic blocks. It is an easy process and gives you the best impression.

Follow these easy instructions for mounting your rubber to the Original Static Cling Mounting Foam:

1. Peel off the easy release protective parchment looking liner from the adhesive (sticky) side of the foam.

2. Mount your unmounted rubber to this adhesive side. Apply even pressure, left to right.

3. Trim closely around the stamp image with a pair of Kai scissors.

4. After you have finished trimming the stamp, remove the other side of the liner to expose the static cling mounting foam.

5. Mount your trimmed stamp onto an acrylic mounting handle and you are ready to stamp.  When you are not using your stamps, keep stored onto a Plastic Storage Sheet.
